Insurance

Travel insurance

Travel insurance is designed to protect you against unexpected events when you’re travelling. It can help with costs associated with events like illnesses and injuries, lost or stolen luggage and personal effects, cancellation fees and flight delays. You can purchase travel insurance through Topsail Insurance or contact your preferred insurance provider.

Travel insurance should be a necessary part of your holiday preparation.

Hirer’s liability insurance

Hirer’s liability insurance is optional and at the discretion of the charterer. It will protect you or members of the charter for accidental injury or death to a person/s, or damage to another vessel caused by (or as a result) of your negligence.

Oceanic Marine Risks specialises in hirer’s liability insurance specific to a bareboating holiday. If you take out insurance with another provider, ensure you read the fine print and cover you for a bareboating holiday.

Non-refundable damage waiver

A non-refundable damage waiver of $55 per night is charged to cover minor loss or damage to the vessel or its inventory. All bareboat vessels are covered under insurance to protect the owner of the vessel against loss or damage to the vessel and its equipment. Please be aware any structural damage or damage causing the vessel to be unseaworthy while on charter will require the vessel to be returned to base for assessment and repair. This could result in the termination of the charter with no reimbursement of charter fees.
